December 15, 2017

On 12-14-2017 at 6:04 P.M. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of W Kaufman and as a result made contact with Johnny Smallwood (54 YOA male). Smallwood was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Due to previous convictions for driving while intoxicated, Smallwood’s charge was enhanced to a felony offense.


On 12-14-2017 at 1:03 P.M. Officers made contact with a complainant at the police department in regards to a credit/debit card abuse complaint. Officers were told that possible known suspects had been using the complainant’s debit card to make transactions. The complainant advised that numerous transactions had been made using the debit card between 10/3 and 12/01/2017. The investigation is ongoing.


On 12-15-2017 at 4:35 A.M. Officers responded to the 300 block of NE 20th in regards to a hit and run accident. Officers were told that an unknown suspect, driving a white 4 door passenger car, struck the complainant as he was walking in the 300 block of NE 20th. The suspect vehicle did not stop. The complainant alleged that he was struck in the left thigh and was transported to the local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.


Paris Police responded to 93 calls for service and arrested 6 persons over the past 24 hours ending at 6:00 A.M. on December 15, 2017.
