The mother of three children who were killed in Ponder by her ex-husband last week has been released from the hospital, a spokeswoman for Medical City Denton said Tuesday.

Amanda Lee Simpson, 29, was the sole survivor of the rampage that also left her boyfriend dead. She had been in the hospital for a gunshot wound, she said in a Facebook Live video from her hospital bed shortly after the shooting.

Officials said her ex-husband, Justin Tyler Painter, 39, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chin after he shot the others.

Seth Richardson, Simpson's boyfriend, died of a gunshot wound to his face. The three children, Drake Painter, 4; Caydence Painter, 6; and Odin Painter, 8, each died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.

Simpson posted three live videos on Facebook from the hospital, sharing with friends how she was recovering from her wounds and grieving for her children and boyfriend. In one of the videos posted Thursday morning, she said her ex-husband "couldn't accept that I made a decision to make myself happy."

She criticized the judge who presided over her divorce with Painter, saying her concerns about her ex-husband's mental instability went unheard. Judge Nancy Berger said the couple waived contested divorce hearings, so there was no opportunity for a judge to hear the concerns Simpson referred to in one of her videos.

The videos have since been removed from Simpson's Facebook account, and a message shared with her Facebook friends said the account was being temporarily deactivated.

Painter initiated the divorce with Simpson in August; it was finalized in March. Court records show Painter obtained a temporary restraining order against Simpson during the divorce to prevent her from contacting him. 

Simpson was ordered to pay child support to Painter. Both parents cared for and spent time with their three children, court records show.
