On June 25, 2018, at approximately 3 a.m., the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office received a request from Galveston Police Department to assist in the investigation of an Officer involved shooting at the 5300 block of Ave. L.

GPD Officers reported observing a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Sonny’s Convenience Store located at 51st and Broadway. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop which resulted in the vehicle fleeing from them. When the vehicle stopped, the driver fled on foot and into a vacant lot.  After giving verbal commands to the suspect, the officer fired two rounds from his service weapon striking the fleeing suspect (identified as Luis Fernendo Argueta H/M 19yoa).  Argueta was transported to UTMB Hospital where he died from his wounds. A weapon was recovered at the scene by investigators.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident. Argueta was transported to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office pending an autopsy. Witnesses are being interviewed and the investigation continues.

Comments:
I don't know the details on the shooting. My comments is not regarding the shooting. Maybe it's justified. Maybe it's not. But what does his prior history have to do with the story? Why does the media always bring up prior history to make it as through he had it coming?

Ok trolls. Troll on...

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. 19 years old and already surpassed the "criminal charges starter pack". HE wasted his life.

Not sure why the bring up criminal history; however; they bring up a police officers past , ie: IAD investigations! No difference to me...just my 2 cents. (no I'm not a troll) Just don't see what difference it makes if they bring it up or don't ?
