GEORGE WILLIAM CRAIG, JR., age 51, passed away on August 23, 2018.
George was born in Houston on October 10, 1966 and grew up in the Alief area.

After graduating from Alief Elsik High School in 1985, he went on to attend The University of Tulsa on a football scholarship. While at TU, he became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Upon graduation from The University of Tulsa with a degree in Criminal Justice, he returned to Houston where he achieved his dream of joining the Houston Police Department in January 1990. During Officer Craig's career with the department, he was assigned to the Westside Division, Southwest Division and Narcotics Division. He retired as a Senior Officer in 2009.

George is survived by his daughter, Hayley Joy Craig of Katy, his parents, George William Craig, Sr. and Joy Craig of Edmond, OK; his sister, Michelle Altdoerffer, her husband, Richard and two nephews of Edmond, OK; and his brother, B. Craig, his wife and two nieces of Houston.

George will be remembered for his passion for law enforcement, love of cooking (especially bar-b-que!) and enthusiasm for a good story.

Services for George will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at West Oaks Fellowship, 14440 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77082.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.
