On 08/09/2017 at 12:04 am, The Galveston Police Department was advised by the Houston Police Department that a white in color Ford F-350 was stolen from an Exxon convenience store located on Green Rd. in Houston TX and was possibly in Galveston TX.

The stolen vehicle was being tracked by a cell phone located inside of the vehicle. Galveston Police Officers also received information from the League City Police Department stating a white male suspect, later identified as Ryan Joe Stephens, 39 years old, entered the HEB grocery store located at 2955 G. Freeway, stole several bottles of wine, and fled in a vehicle matching the description provided by Houston PD.

Galveston Police Officers later observed the described stolen vehicle traveling in the 4600 Block of Ave G and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and evaded Galveston Police leading the Officers on a pursuit that ended in the 6900 Block of State Highway 146 in Texas City. During the pursuit,

Officers from the Texas City Police Department, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and Texas D.P.S assisted the Galveston Police Department in deploying spike strips to stop the evading vehicle. The suspect, Ryan Joe Stephens was taken into custody and transported to the Galveston County Jail without incident.

Stephens was arrested on the charges of Evading Arrest and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, with bonds totaling at $30,000.00.

Bond is not high enough for any criminal!!! Those trucks are not cheap & I'm sure the owner has a steady job, which he paid for the truck with his salary.
