On 11-10-2017 at 9:54 A.M. Officers responded to the parole office in regards to a warrant arrest. Officers made contact with Monty Johnston (58 YOA male) who was found to have an outstanding parole violation warrant. Johnston was placed under arrest for the warrant. Johnston was also charged with a misdemeanor warrant.

On 11-10-2017 at 2:18 P.M. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 10 Block of SE 13th and as a result of the stop made contact with Robert Cooper (29 YOA male). Cooper was found to be in possession of approximately 4.5 ounces of marijuana and was placed under arrest.

On 11-10-2017 at 6:41 P.M. Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1700 block of Hubbard. A vehicle leaving the scene was pointed out to officers and a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in the 1800 block of Hubbard. Officers made contact with Benjamin Mitchell (29 YOA male) and three others inside the vehicle. Mitchell was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and was placed under arrest. The others were placed under arrest for misdemeanor charges.

On 11-11-2017 at 2:32 P.M. Officers responded to an assault complaint in the 200 block of SE 13th. Officers made contact with Bryin Robinson (27 YOA male) who was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Lamar County. Robinson was placed under arrest. During a search of Robinson he was found to be in possession of a firearm that had been previously reported stolen to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. Robinson was also charged with theft of firearm.

On 11-11-2017 at 3:03 P.M. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of NE 21st and as a result made contact with Mitchell Harris (18 YOA male) who had marijuana flakes in his lap. Harris was said to have handed marijuana to a juvenile as the stop was being made. Harris was placed under arrest for delivering marijuana to a minor and a misdemeanor charge.

On 11-12-2017 at 12:52 P.M. Officers responded to the 900 block of Clarksville Street in regards to a shoplifter. Officers located Marva Colbert (55 YOA female) in the 200 block of SE 13th and found her to be in possession of property from a store in the 1300 block of Clarksville. Officers were able to verify that the property was stolen on that date by Colbert. Officers also spoke with representatives from the store in the 900 block of Clarksville who advised that Colbert had been on their property after having been previously warned not to return. Colbert was placed under arrest for theft and the charge was later inhanced due to previous convictions. Colbert was also placed under arrest for a misdemeanor charge.

On 11-12-2017 at 8:06 P.M. Officers responded to the 1000 block of E Booth in regards to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon complaint. Officers were told that a known suspect had driven a 2012 Buick through the front of the complainant’s residence and struck the complainant with the vehicle before driving out the side of the residence. The suspect left the residence and then returned at which time police arrived and the suspect fled from police in the vehicle. The pursuit was cancelled after officers learned of a possibility of small children being present in the vehicle. The suspect was believed to have fled to the Mount Pleasant area. The complainant sustained a fractured right leg as a result of the assault.
The investigation is ongoing.

Paris Police responded to 271 calls for service and arrested 19 persons over the three day weekend ending at 6:00 A.M. on November 13, 2017.
