Need to say really super quick I love our Houston Police Department!  And before some stop reading and start writing nasty comments, it doesn't matter what industry, market or career group, there are BAD PEOPLE, not entirely corrupt industries.

This does not support any "bad actors". They are so quick to respond when anything funky is going down They have been nothing but kind, courteous and helpful to me since I moved to Westchase.

We often have helicopters flying over, tonight was one of those nights about 20 min after I started hearing knocks on different sides of the house and windows. I called in to dispatch explained what happened, I think the police showed up in 5 min.

First thing I did was explained I have a CHL with a loaded and racked pistol in my hand. The officer called letting me know he was at the front door. I told the officer I would put my weapon back in the safe before I opened the front.

They spent about 15 -20 minutes total looking around the outside of the house and making sure I felt comfortable. They gave me a few tips and off they went making sure I knew if anything else happened tonight to call them back immediately.

Think about it.... how many people do you know who would walk up to a door with a woman Inside all alone, maybe scared, with a loaded pistol knowing how to use it? I would guess a very minimal number.

I think it's so important that we ALL understand how many times their lives could be and are at risk. Even though I know I'm not a wack-a-do going to harm the officers, they don't. They have to keep on their toes at all times in order to go home at the end of the shift.

I believe these people are the heroes, the people that protect us on a daily basis and not professional athletes that make millions of dollars a year, take a few seconds at the beginning or end of a game to make statements about things they don't have the passion to take action on which IS the very least they can possibly do.

Almost every member of my family has either been military, police, agency, bureau or first-responder and they get paid next to nothing for running in face first to help, protect, extinguish? and save us all.

I'm just saying if you know anyone in any service, bureau, agency or department give them a big ol' hug and kiss then thank them for their service.
