FORT WORTH, Texas -   On June 27, 1983, 11-year-old Julie Fuller went missing from the Kensington Motel in Arlington, Texas after taking out trash.  Julie Fuller’s nude body was found the next day on June 28, 1983, in the 200 block of Handley Ederville Road in Fort Worth, Texas. Her killer has never been found.  After 30 years of investigating, which consisted of eliminating hundreds of potential suspects, investigators were able to get DNA evidence entered into CODIS but with no matches.

Fort Worth Police homicide detectives reached out to Parabon Nanolabs and obtained a Snapshot DNA phenotyping report.  DNA phenotyping is the process of predicting physical appearance and ancestry from unidentified DNA evidence.  Using evidence from this investigation, Snapshot produced trait predictions for the unidentified DNA.  Individual predictions were made for the suspect’s ancestry, eye color, skin color, freckling and face shape.  By combining these attributes of appearance, the composite depicted what the suspect may have looked like at 25 years old with an average body-mass index.  Snapshot also provided age progression composites at 45 years old and 65 years old due to investigators not knowing the suspect’s age at the time of Fuller’s murder.
