Texas Police News is fortunate from time to time to be offered books and manuscripts to review,  by authors who are either in law enforcement, have served in law enforcement or have close, personal relationships with law enforcement.  Often we review these books from the time they are rough drafts, to completed manuscripts to the final, printed book.

We are happy to share these with our readers.

The books on this list fall into a very exclusive category -- books not only worth reading, but books worth owning.  Some of them may even change the way you look at the world of police officers and law enforcement.

Unless otherwise noted, the summaries are excerpts from the book -- either the cover flaps or the introduction.  Some books contain a link to the appropriate page at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, other book outlets or the publisher where you may purchase it.

ߦ   The Park Place Rangers

The Park Place Rangers was the monikor given to a group of officers who worked at the Park Place Police substation in southeast Houston, Texas, from the mid sixties until the station was closed in 1989.

They were sometimes considered a wild and dowdy bunch, but no one ever questioned their dedication to curbing crime, chasing bad guys and having a good time doing it.

The author, a former police officer in Houstin writes social justice, crime and mystery fiction.

The Park Place Rangers is a fictional account of what might have happened during those years when high technology was just beginning to creep into the law enforcement profession.

Many of those who worked at Park Place proudly accepted the nickname and still meet periodically to retell the stories and earned the name and reputation of the Park Place Rangers.
