Several Texas leaders are turning to Twitter to share their reaction
to the news of Kyle Rittenhouse being found not guilty on all charges
against him on Friday, November 19. Rittenhouse, 18, was acquitted of
five charges, including the most serious of the five, intentional
homicide.
Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, fatally shot Joseph
Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz with an
AR-style semi-automatic rifle during a tumultuous night of protests in
the summer of 2020. In his closely watched trial, Rittenhouse pleaded
self-defense in the deadly shootings.
The former police cadet could have gotten life in prison
if found guilty on the most serious charge, first-degree intentional
homicide, or what some other states call first-degree murder.
