Paris Police observed an older male in the area of NW 7th St and Bonham St around
1:32 P.M. on October 6, 2022 making contact with several people in a short period of time.
Officers knew that there has been a lot of drug trafficking in the area. When officers
attempted to make contact with the male, he rode away on his bicycle. Officers then
stopped and detained 58 year old Laney Gawayne Record. Record was found to be in
possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. Record was arrested and charged with
possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Record was booked and
later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of NW 7th St at 11:42 P.M. on October
6, 2022 for a license plate violation. The occupants had open alcoholic beverages in the
vehicle. During the stop, the officer located a small baggie of methamphetamine in the
vehicle. The driver, 53 year old James Edward Wallace of Woodward, Oklahoma, and
passenger, 49 year old Arthur Eugene Sims, of Paris, were arrested and charged with
possession of a controlled substance. Both were later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 120 calls for service and arrested 5 persons on October 6,
2022.
