Cedar Park Police Department

On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, Cedar Park Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at 1700 Bagdad
Road around 11:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, Stephen McCoy, 36 was found injured from a possible stab wound. He was transported by EMS to a local
hospital where he later succumbed to the injury.

During the course of the investigation, it appears McCoy was involved in a disturbance with his girlfriend when her 17
year old son stepped in to prevent further violence.

The disturbance continued and a pocket knife was introduced and McCoy was stabbed at least one time in the leg.
The 17 year old was also transported to the hospital and treated and released for his injuries.

This remains an ongoing and active investigation with results from the Medical Examiner’s Office still pending.
The Cedar Park Police Department is working with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office and at this time, no
charges have been filed.
