COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS – On June 25, 2022 at approximately 1:14 AM, officerswere dispatched to the 100 block of South 1st Street in reference to a male whosustained a severe laceration. Officers provided medical aid until the arrival ofCopperas Cove EMS. The victim, Hamilton resident Christian Carl Carrigan, wastransported to Carl R. Darnall Army Hospital where he ultimately succumbed to hiswounds.
A witness identified the suspect as Hamilton resident Timothy Robert Rea and advisedhe fled the area prior to the arrival of police. Officers located Rea in the 1900 block ofNorth 1st Street with the murder weapon still in his possession. Rea refused to complywith the officers and had to be subdued with the use of a Taser. Rea was taken intocustody and charged with Murder.
Rea was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Guinn, who set his bond at $1,000,000 forthe charge of murder. The investigation is still ongoing
