PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

July 5, 2022

FORT WORTH, Texas - On Monday, June 27, 2022, officers were dispatched to investigate a sexual assault offense that occurred near the 900 block of Foch Street. The female victim did not know her attacker and she reported that she was threatened with a firearm during the offense.

Sex Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and began investigating. Multiple FWPD units tirelessly reviewed camera footage, conducted surveillance operations, and utilized every available resource to take this violent offender off the streets and prevent the possibility of any further attacks.

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, the suspect, 24-year-old Caylon Washington, was taken into custody and he has been charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault.

Some details of the arrest will not be released as the investigation is still ongoing to collect all possible evidence related to this offense.

While FWPD does not currently believe there are related offenses, we are utilizing CODIS and uploading the details of this case into the FBI’s VICAP (Violent Crime Apprehension Program) as a precaution in case there are other related offenses anywhere the United States.

Investigators are currently filing the case with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
