Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of N Main St at 2:19 A.M. on July 11,
2022 for displaying an expired registration. During the stop, the front passenger, 34 year
old Sherena Lynn Emeyabbi, of Paris, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine
and prescription pills that she did not have a prescription to possess. The driver was also
arrested on a misdemeanor drug charge. Both were later transferred to the Lamar County
Jail.


Paris Police spoke with a victim of a theft by telephone at 8:16 A.M. on July 11, 2022.
The victim reported that someone had stolen her cell phone while she was in an
establishment in the 1100 block of NW Loop 286 between midnight and 1 A.M. The victim
reported that she tracked her cell phone until about 2 A.M. Since that time, the victim has
learned that whoever took the phone has posted pictures on her social media account and
has used the phone to make purchaces. The incident is under investigation.


Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of Lamar Ave at 9:35 P.M. on July 11,
2022 for a defective headlamp. The driver, 23 year old Blyiesha Khwin Williams, of
Clarksville, Texas, was found to be in possession of marijuana, THC gummies, and 2
handguns. Williams was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance of
more than 4 grams, possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying a weapon. Williams
was booked and later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.


Paris Police responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of SW 1st St at 11:44 A.M.
on July 11, 2022. Officers located a 42 year old male on a front porch who had been shot in
the leg. Witnesses reported that the male had been arguing with his son and the son had
shot him. The suspect, 18 year old Magic Kyjuan McCarty, of Dallas, was stopped in
Commerce, Texas and detained until Paris Officers could arrive. McCarty was found to be in
possession of a handgun and was arrested. He was charged with aggravated assault of a
family member with a deadly weapon. He was transported back to Paris and booked in to
the city jail. He is waiting to be transferred to the Lamar County Jail. The victim was
transported to PRMC for non-lifethreatening injuries where he was treated and later
released.


Paris Police responded to 74 calls for service and arrested 4 on July 10, 2022.
