Retired Captain Simeon J. Jones passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Retired Police Officer Linda Jones, who retired on April 30, 1990; and his brother, Retired Sergeant Wayne M. Jones, who retired on February 4, 2000. He joined the Houston Police Department on November 6, 1961, Academy Class #25. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Traffic and Accident, Burglary and Theft, Narcotics, and Auto Theft Divisions. On March 29, 1975, he was promoted to the rank of Police Captain. As such, he was in command of the Records, Vice, Narcotics, Internal Affairs, Robbery, Criminal Intelligence, and Employment Services Divisions. On March 16, 2002, Captain Jones entered Phase Down, retiring on December 1, 2004. 

 

The body is entrusted with Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 North Frazier Street, Suite 115, Conroe, Texas 77301 (936) 788-1145.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at Lone Star Cowboy Church, 21627 Eva Street, Montgomery, Texas 77356 (936) 597-5742, on Sunday, August 28, 2022, starting at 2:00 p.m.
