Two men are behind bars after investigators with the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force reported finding drugs and weapons during a narcotics search.

Bethel McCloud, 56, of Texas City was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of marijuana and felon in possession of a firearm with bond set at $250,000. Derrick Wiley, 45, of Katy, was arrested and charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm, with bond set at $160,000.

Officers executed a search warrant at a house McCloud owns in the 300 block of Ninth Street North in Texas City, police said.

Police allege that during a pat-down, McCloud was found in possession of a .380-caliber handgun, and Wiley in possession of a 9mm handgun, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Capt. James Roy said.

Police allege they seized 8 ounces of marijuana, 2 grams of crack cocaine and an AR-15 rifle, Roy said.

    Comments:
Eight ounces of weed and 2 grams of crack doesn't seem like a lot. Perhaps they were hoping to find more?

This is why you shouldn't come after law abiding citizens Arms. Criminals are counting on it. They do not abide by the law.
