Burglary

 

Feb. 15 (6:33 a.m.) Three work trucks were burglarized at the AT&T Central Office located at 106 W. Edgewood Drive. A manager arrived for work at 6:10 a.m. and found the door to one of the trucks wide open. At the time of the report, nothing appeared to be stolen, but there was damage.

 

Theft

 

Feb. 18 (10:09 a.m.) Huey Long Collins, 43, of Friendswood, was issued a citation charging him with Theft. Collins walked into HEB at 701 W. Parkwood Avenue and walked out with a case of Propel water without paying.  Collins and his wife left the scene before officers arrived but were stopped by police after the vehicle description was provided.  Collins is also a suspect in a theft at HEB in January. During that theft, Collins stole Mardi Gras beer and Tylenol.  Video evidence was provided, and a second theft charge will be filed.

 

Fraud

 

Feb. 13 (3:59 p.m.) A Friendswood auto mechanic business found a vehicle for sale on a used car website called Proline, LLC. After several communications through email, the business owner wired $75,000 to the Florida company to purchase a vehicle. The vehicle was supposed to arrive on February 11th. The vehicle never arrived and communication with the seller has ceased. The business owner believes he may be the victim of fraud.

 

Feb. 18 (9:52 a.m.) A Friendswood woman received an unsolicited pair of socks from Kohls, then she received a bill.  She contacted Kohls and was advised that the issue would be resolved.  Since that time, she has received calls about outstanding balances from other retailers and services.  An identity theft report was taken.

 

Feb. 18 (2:15 p.m.) A Friendswood man received a call from Navy Federal Credit Union about a checking account being opened using his personal identifying information. Additionally, a second account user was added to the account.

 

Criminal Mischief

 

Feb. 13 (8:58 a.m.) Criminal mischief was reported at a home under construction in the 1600 block of Dayton Ridge Circle.  Electrical wires were cut, causing more than $3,000 worth of damage.

 

Feb. 18 (3:54 p.m.) A man who runs an RV repair business out of his home in the 200 block of block of Castlelake Drive reported criminal mischief to an RV.  A suspect was named.

 

Assault

 

Feb. 17 (4:39 p.m.) A 16-year-old victim and a 17-year-old friend were walking home from Friendswood High School, on Greenbriar, when the 16-year-old was stabbed in the arm by a dart that was projected from a passing vehicle. The suspect vehicle was a silver Ford F150 truck that was traveling south on Greenbriar at the time of the attack.   This case is being investigated as an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

 

Narcotics

 

Feb. 17 (11:00 p.m.) Javier Betancourt, 25, of League City, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Betancourt was stopped for speeding in the 800 block of S. Friendswood Drive. During the contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana.   A search yielded a THC vaping device and marijuana.

 

Driving While Intoxicated

 

Feb. 15 (1:56 a.m.) Anna Marie Keane, 52, of League City, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated – 3 or more offenses in the 100 block of W. Parkwood Avenue. Keane was stopped for speeding. She exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test.

 

Feb. 18 (1:36 a.m.) James Alexander Diaz, 31, of Houston, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd or more offense in the 2900 block of FM 528. A witness reported a reckless driver with a blown tire who hit a median as he pulled into a gas station.  Police arrived and found Diaz to be intoxicated.  He failed a field sobriety test.

 

Feb. 19 (1:32 a.m.) Emily Blaire Floyd, 22, of Clute, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated in the 400 block of E. Parkwood Avenue. Floyd was stopped for speeding. She exhibited signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test.  During a search of her vehicle, officers found drug paraphernalia.

 

Weapons

 

Feb. 18 (4:09 a.m.) Ryan Moore, 23, of Houston, was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Moore was stopped in a moving lane of traffic in the 4100 block of FM 2351.   When a bystander stopped and police arrived, Moore was found sleeping inside his vehicle with an open container of alcohol and drug paraphernalia in his possession. A search of the vehicle yielded a firearm.

 

Feb. 19 (11:13 p.m.) Tamara Nicole Granville, 25, of Webster, was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Granville was stopped for speeding in the 200 block of Whispering Pines.  During the contact, the officer detected the smell of marijuana.  A search yielded a gram of marijuana and a firearm.

 

Traffic

 

Feb. 16 (8:37 p.m.) Isaiah Hunter, 25, of Friendswood, was charged with Disregarding Police Officer and Failure to Identify. An officer was directing traffic at the scene of a crash at FM 2351 and Watkins Way.  Hunter disregarded the officer’s commands and drove around a barricaded area. Another officer stopped Hunter and requested his driver’s license; he refused.  Hunter was taken into custody.
