Update March 23, 2023: The victim in the stabbing from March 22, 2023, has been identified as Nicholas Myers, 27 of Friendswood. Myers was pronounced deceased at HCA Clear Lake Hospital yesterday at approximately 1:30 PM.

 

The victim’s half-brother Austin Whittenburg, 22 of Friendswood, has been charged with First Degree Murder by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, no bond amount has been set at this time. Whittenburg was transported to Harris County Jail on the evening of March 22, 2023, where he remains in custody. His preliminary court appearance is set for Friday, March 24, at 9:00 AM

 

The Friendswood Police Department’s initial investigation into this incident has revealed that a verbal disturbance escalated into a physical disturbance between the two brothers.
