At 1:15 pm Monday Douglas Gene Holloman, 57, was riding his Harley motorcycle east on FM 1736. Ronnie Johnson, 52, of Hempstead was driving westbound on FM 1736 when he crossed the center line striking the motorcycle. He fled the scene prompting DPS, Waller County, and DPS Air Support to the area. He was later captured and arrested. Holloman, who was transported to the hospital was pronounced deceased. DPS continues the investigation with the assistance of the Waller County District Attorney.
