On Sept. 7, TCSO deputies responded to a 911 call received at 5:19 p.m. seeking a welfare check on a woman. When deputies arrived at the residence on the 1700 block of W. Wells Branch Parkway, the woman was found deceased with obvious injuries.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and searched the home overnight, and their investigation remains ongoing. This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is currently no perceived threat to the public.

This case marks TCSO’s fifth homicide investigation of 2023

UPDATE:

 

The victim in this case has been positively identified as PRECIOUS ANGEL RUCKER, 38, of Austin.

 

TCSO is actively searching for the victim’s brother, WANYA KASEAN SMITH, 21, of Austin. Smith is suspected of murdering his sister and tampering with evidence.

 

Smith is described as a black male, 6’1” weighing 230 lbs. He was last seen in the Wells Branch area. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately and not attempt to interact with him.
