August 28-September 4, 2023
Criminal Mischief
Sept.
4 (3:06 a.m.) A mailbox was vandalized in the 16800 block of Townes
Road. The owner left his home at 5:00 p.m. and returned at 3:00 a.m. to
find the damage. The damage appeared to be intentional, and it appeared
that the mailbox was struck with a baseball bat.
Theft
Aug.
29 (8:31 a.m.) A resident in the 300 block of Dawn Hill wrote a hot
check to a plumbing business. Attempt to contact the resident have
been unsuccessful. Charges are pending.
Sept.
1 (2:33 p.m.) David Teneyuque, Jr., 55, of Houston, is accused of
Theft. Surveillance video captured the theft and Teneyuque was observed
stealing Nolan Ryan beef, ribs, ribeye steak, chuck roasts and diapers
from Kroger at 151 N. Friendswood Drive. A license plate on the
get-a-way vehicle was obtained and used to confirm Teneyuque’s identity.
A warrant is pending.
Sept.
4 (1:02 p.m.) Wheels and tires were stolen from a vehicle parked at
Christian Brothers Automotive, located at 1553 S. Friendswood Drive. The
vehicle was left on concrete blocks. The theft occurred sometime
between September 2 at 1:00 p.m. and September 4 at 1:00 p.m.
Traffic
Sept.
2 (11:27 p.m.) A hit and run accident was reported in the 700 block of
Regency Court. A black Ford Escort was parked and unoccupied at the time
of the crash.
Found Property
Aug.
28 (11:45 a.m.) A satchel and contents were found inside a home under
construction in the 1800 block of Lake Crest Drive. The found property,
except the marijuana, may be claimed at the Friendswood Police
Department.
Arrests
August 28
Ngoc Phan Giang, 56, of Houston, was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention in a Vehicle and Resisting Arrest or Transport.
August 29
Kyle Andrew Lange, 30, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While License Invalid.
Criss Kent Wilcutt, II, 31, of Friendswood, was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention in a Vehicle.
August 30
Nicolas Maldonado, 17, of Friendswood, was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Family Member.
September 1
Garth Francis Sorzano, 56, of Galveston, was charged with Expired Operator’s License.
September 2
Randall Ray Engweiler, 63, of Friendswood, was charged with Disorderly Conduct.
September 3
Derrick Anthony Jones, 31, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While intoxicated.
Mario Hernandez, 49, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
September 4
Arnold Coronado, 21, of Houston, was charged with No Driver’s License.
At
some point in the day, everyone is a pedestrian. Unfortunately,
pedestrian injuries and fatalities remain high. In 2021, 7,388
pedestrians were killed – a 13% increase from 2020 – and more than
60,000 pedestrians were injured nationwide.
