AUBURN, N.Y. — A man being held in the Cayuga County Jail on charges that include trying to grab a police officer’s gun attacked a custody officer and stole a handcuff key, the county sheriff said.

Sheriff Brian Schenck said in a news release on Tuesday that Sincere A. Harrison , 24, of Auburn , went after an officer completing his regular rounds on Oct. 24 , striking him in the head with a closed fist multiple times.
