Jamaica Beach Police Department

On Saturday, January 6, 2018, shortly after 8:00 AM, smoke and flames were reported coming from a house in the 4200 block of Jamaica Cove.

Officer Hardin of the Jamaica Beach Police Department was dispatched along with Jamaica Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. and Galveston Fire Dept. Station 7.

When police and fire units arrived the residence was fully engulfed in flames.

At the time of the fire, the resident was able to get out of the home with her three dogs without any injury.

After a preliminary investigation it was established that the fire was believed to have been caused by an electrical outlet and there was no suspected arson involved in the incident.

the porch rail waiting to be rescued. It was rescued safely.
