A Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputy was arrested by deputies early Sunday in connection with the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl, officials said.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the accused is 47-year-old Jose Nunez, a 10-year department veteran who has served as a detention officer.

According to Salazar, the victim's mother called authorities some time overnight after the girl cried out to her for help. Deputies responded and by 4 a.m., after an initial investigation, Nunez was arrested. He was later charged with felony sexual assault of a child younger than 6, according to Salazar.

Authorities believe the assault has been ongoing for months, perhaps years, Salazar said, adding that the girl's mother was allegedly blackmailed by the deputy to "place her in fear," so she would not report the assaults.

Salazar said the mother is an undocumented immigrant and that Nunez allegedly said if she went to authorities, he would report her.

Comments:
Glad you are caught - Putting up a facade that you are supposed to protect and serve but yet all you are is a pedophile preying on victims that are here illegally and afraid to make a report in fear of being extradited back to their home country. Well Jose, guess what? You are about to have justice served to you and then, worse yet, prison justice. What a POS. Wipe that SEG off your face.

Just a filthy, disgusting, vile piece of TRASH!! This is the best I can say on a public forum.
This slimeball gives good and decent men and women in law enforcement a bad name, what a shameful creature!
