Galveston Police Press Release

 

Early Wednesday morning, June 27th 2018, between the hours of 6:30am and 8:00am the Vice and Narcotics Division of the Galveston Police Department along with Galveston SWAT, conducted three arrest warrants on the island; the first in the 4900 block of Ave O and a half, the second in the 1800 block of Ave N, and the third in the 2300 block of 59th St.  All of the warrants were obtained after an extensive investigation conducted by the Narcotics unit involving the distribution of large amounts of methamphetamines, heroine and prescription narcotics on the island.  The investigation also revealed that the suspects were in possession of several firearms including large caliber rifles. 

 

After the completion of the warrants, narcotics investigators recovered several weapons during the warrant service including four handguns loaded with high capacity magazines and one with a 50 round drum magazine, a sawed-off shotgun, an AR-15 loaded with a 200 round drum magazine, and an AK-47 loaded with a 100 round drum magazine.  They also seized nearly a half a kilo of methamphetamine as well as heroine, and marijuana.

 

Five individuals were taken into custody as a result of the three warrants:

    • Bond: $80,000

 

  • Claudia Herrera
    • Charges: Possession of Marijuana
    • Bond: $5,000

 

  • David Rodriguez
    • Charges: 7 Counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1
    • Bond: $1,050,000

 

  • Estrellita Ventura
    • Charges: 3 Counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1
    • Bond: $225,000

 

  • Raymond Serrata
    • Charges: Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1
    • Bond: $150,000
