MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) — An unusually violent night around the northern Mexican city of Monterrey, including a string of attacks on bars, left at least 15 dead and nine wounded, authorities said Sunday.

The Nuevo Leon state prosecutor's office reported in a statement that 12 people died in six bar attacks overnight in the municipalities of Monterrey, Guadalupe and Juarez. A man and a 14-year-old boy were also shot dead in their car on a highway, and in the city of Linares, a man was killed in a clash between rival gangs after a "quinceanera" coming-of-age party at a private home.

No arrests were announced.

Oh No!!!!! We (Born and raised Americans), have some dear "good family" friends in Monterrey. Even they, when they visit here, (with correct papers and passports), stay on the U.S. side for the night before crossing to drive back during the day to Monterrey. It's scary!!!! (I truly wish something could/would be done about the Drugs, Cartels and those who set out to do harm. I feel if other country governments would enforce their laws in their countries, people would want to stay. They feel safe in the U.S., but the criminals follow - AND we have our own "home grown",due to drugs & illegal activity!!!)
