Coast Guard, good Samaritans rescue 11 people

NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard and good Samaritan boaters rescued 11 people from the water after their boat capsized near Pensacola Beach, Florida, Saturday.

A 45-Foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Pensacola was enforcing a safety zone for the Pensacola Blue Angels Air Show and received a report at 2:43 p.m. of a vessel with 11 people aboard taking on water approximately a half of a mile south of Pensacola Beach.

The vessel capsized and the 11 people went into the water.

The Coast Guard, along with other good Samaritan boaters, recovered the 11 people and transported them to Holiday Harbor Marina in Pensacola with no medical concerns.
