Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 14600 Alrover about 5:20 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 30).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C. Cegielski and W. Elsbury reported:

The victim and several friends were walking northbound in the 14600 block of Alrover near Fuqua when the suspect's vehicle drove up next to them.  The passenger then began firing a weapon at the victim, who attempted to run but was struck several times.  The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
