For Immediate Release
December 2, 2018

On the evening of December 1 at approx. 9:55 PM, the Montgomery County Pct.1 Constable’s deputies while working DWI enforcement, in the area of IH 45 and Calvary road; observed a black Toyota passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed. This vehicle was subsequently stopped for traffic violations and after making the initial contact with the driver, they observed him to be acting in an erratic manner. While deputies were returned to their patrol vehicle, to conduct a driver’s license status check; the male occupant drove away at a high speed. Deputies then started following the suspect for 53 miles into Leon County.  Montgomery County Precinct 1 deputies were assisted in the pursuit by the Department of Public Safety; Leon and Walker County Sheriff’s offices. In an attempt to immobilize the vehicle and end the pursuit, deputies deployed spike strips. The suspect attempted to avoid the spike strips and lost control of his vehicle wrecking out. When the car came to a stop, the suspect then fled on foot. After a brief foot chase and struggle, the suspect was apprehended by officers.     A thorough search of the area was conducted and a hand gun and narcotics (methamphetamine) were found. The suspect was identified as Alex Queroz-Soriano.  Queroz-Soriano was transported to a hospital where he was medical cleared before being remanded into the custody of the Montgomery County Jail.  In an attempt to learn the complete story, Precinct 1 deputies reached out to other area law enforcement; they found that Queroz-Soriano was wanted for questioning by the Houston Police Department, for a homicide that occurred earlier this date.

Alex Ramon Queroz-Soriano, H/M, Dob. 06-19-1995 of Houston, was placed into the Montgomery County Jail on the following charges: 1. Evading Arrest (Auto), Felony 3, - $ 60,000.00 bond; 2. Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1, State Jail Felony - $60,000.00 bond; and a  3. Homeland Security (ICE) detainer. No image of suspect was available as of this press release.
