Elbert Luke Evans, 35, of Paris, was arrested at 11:41 A.M. on November 30, 2018 at his residence in the 200 block of W Austin St on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated sexual assault of a child. The warrant stemmed from an earlier investigation. Evans was booked and later transferred to the Lamr County Jail.
 
Paris Police responded to a fraud call at 11:40 A.M. on December 1, 2018 where it was reported that a female had attempted to pay for a pack of cigarettes with a counterfeit $100 bill. The clerk refused to take the bill and the suspect left the scene. The incident is under investigation.
 
Officers responded to 520 Booker T. Washington Homes regarding a report of a car being stolen at gun point around 9 PM Saturday evening.  The victim reported 3 men had approached him while one pointed a gun at him, taking his vehicle and wallet. Officers relayed the information regarding the stolen vehicle and a suspect vehicle involved to area officers. Constable Steve Hill spotted both vehicles on FM 79 traveling at a high rate of speed. The constable, Lamar County Deputies and Paris police stopped the vehicles around Lake Gibbons area, recovered the stolen vehicle, a gun and marijuana in the stop. Arrested were 39 year old Lee Edward Morris, 19 year old Garrett Michael Morris, and 20 year old Zamontra Quavon Morris, all of Paris.  All three men are presently charged with aggravated robbery. Garrett Morris was additionally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and Lee Morris was found to have an outstanding parole violation warrant. All three were later placed in the Lamar County Jail.
 
Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 200 block of NW 3rd St at 8:37 A.M. on December 2, 2018. It was reported that someone had broken a window to gain access to the residence. Once inside, several electronics were stolen from the residence. The investigation continues.
                        
 Paris Police responded to 225 calls for service and arrested 11 persons over the past weekend ending at midnight on December 2, 2018. ###
