Investigation into Shooting at 3100 West Sam Houston Parkway South


Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 3100 West Sam Houston Parkway South about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday (June 23).  

The victim, 17, was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers L. Kauffman and C. Bowling reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a motel at the above address and found the victim had been shot by a suspect(s) driving by the location.  

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.

Investigation into Shooting at 1 East Loop North


Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 1 East Loop (East Interstate Highway 610) North about 4:20 p.m. on Saturday (June 22).

The victim, Armando Ramirez, 34, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Althaus and Z. Brumley reported:

Mr. Ramirez was driving northbound on the 610 East Loop when a vehicle with three unknown black male suspects cut him off.  Ramirez pulled his vehicle next to the suspects' vehicle and told them to watch where they were going.  Ramirez and the suspects then got into a verbal altercation.  The suspects' vehicle then pulled behind Ramirez's vehicle and at least two shots were fired towards Ramirez's vehicle, striking a tire and the trunk.  The bullet that struck the trunk traveled into the car and struck Ramirez in the back.  The suspects fled the scene.

Investigation into Shooting at 8310 Gulf Freeway


Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 8310 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday (June 23).

The victim, Charles Wolford, 37, was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers G. Black and A. Hernandez reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at a bar at the above address and found Wolford suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Witnesses stated Wolford was outside his truck in the parking lot when an unknown suspect(s) began shooting and struck Wolford more than one time.  Another unknown male, who was with Wolford, was struck in the hand but left the scene prior to officers' arrival.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2323 Blodgett Street


Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 2323 Blodgett Street about 1:10 a.m. on Saturday (June 22).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Daignualt and Detective J. Escobar reported:

The victim was standing in the parking lot at the above address when an unknown male suspect approached and, for unknown reasons, the two got into a physical altercation.  The suspect fired multiple shots, striking the victim at least one time.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black male wearing a white T-shirt and running northbound on Emancipation Avenue.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7400 Hillmont Street


Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at 7400 Hillmont Street about 5:25 a.m. on Sunday (June 23).

The male victim, Marlin Jordan, 26, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.  The female victim, Maya Brashier, 19, was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner reported:

Mr. Jordan and Ms. Brashier were returning home from work when they were approached by an armed, unknown black male suspect who demanded their money.  The suspect shot Jordan and then shot Brashier after taking her purse and backpack.  He then fled the scene.  Paramedics transported both victims to a hospital.

Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 8810 Tavistock Drive  


Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 8810 Tavistock Drive about 5 p.m. on Sunday (June 23).

The victim is identified as Kevin Wiersema, 47.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Moss and E. May reported:

Officers responded to a report of a deceased male inside the residence at the above address.  The male, Mr. Wiersema, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 19000 Glenwest


Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 19000 Glenwest about 4:40 p.m. on Thursday (June 27).

The identity of the male victim, 62, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer S. Le reported:

The victim was driving a gray Toyota Camry southbound on Glenwest near Bay Area Boulevard when it is believed he suffered a medical episode. The vehicle struck a tree, flipped and landed upside down.  Two children, both passengers, a male, 9 and a female, 7, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital via Life Flight helicopter in unknown conditions.
