On June 27, 2019, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office observed a vehicle parked in a secluded area behind a closed business in the 200 block of West FM 1960.
Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Naomi Jester Melis-Smith, the deputy observed narcotics paraphernalia in plain view scattered in the front seats and center console.
During a search of the vehicle the deputy located two clear plastic bags containing heroin, numerous needles, an uncapped needle in the front passenger seat where she was sitting and heroin spilled all over the center console.
"Naomi Melis-Smith was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Her bond and court information have not been set at this time." -Constable Mark Herman
