TEXAS CITY, TX, August 27, 2019, 1:41 AM Texas City Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue South. While en-route responding officers were advised that a male had called police dispatch and stated that he had been shot. Responding officers and Texas City EMS arrived on scene and located a 21 year-old male siting inside his vehicle in the driveway of a residence in the 1100 block of 1st Avenue South. 
 
The male had a single gunshot wound to his chest and was transported by Texas City EMS to UTMB in serious condition. Texas City Criminal Investigation and Identification officers were called to the scene, and a male subject was detained and is being questioned. This is an active investigation and will be updated when more information is available 
 
      News Release Update
 
The Criminal Investigation Division after completing their investigation into the shooting, have charged Manual Trey Rojas 08/20/2001, with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon with bond set at $100,000.00. Rojas is still being held in the Texas City awaiting transfer to the Galveston County jail.
