The Cedar Park Police Department has an update in the suspicious death investigation from Sunday, October 20th in which a man was found dead behind a Texaco gas station at around 1:43 p.m.

An autopsy report was conducted Monday morning and based on our preliminary findings, his death is a result of a medical condition.

The man involved has been identified as Joseph Wayne Heffron (DOB: 01/31/1969) and is a known transient in the area who went by “Sarge”.

There are no further details at this time.

Cedar Park Police Investigating Suspicious Death

At approximately 1:43 p.m. on Sunday, October 20th, Cedar Park Police responded to a call of a man found behind the Texaco gas station at 2509 South Bell Blvd.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased male in his early fifties in the brush and tree line behind the gas station. The man is a known transient in the area. Due to the nature of the situation, investigators have deemed this a suspicious death pending an autopsy report and further investigation.

This remains an active and ongoing case.
