A juvenile is in custody after a Mesquite 17-year-old reported missing was later found dead.

Mesquite police say Benjamin Young was reported missing Tuesday and that he had last been seen earlier that day in Dallas.

Officers suspected foul play after the teen’s vehicle was found abandoned in Dallas on Wednesday.

Police said they determined Young had been killed in Dallas.

A juvenile male, whose name was not released because of his age, was taken into custody Saturday and faces a charge of capital murder. It was unclear Monday whether the juvenile had an attorney representing him.

Authorities did not release any additional information about the case.

“We will never be able to recover from this pain,” Young’s father, David Young, wrote on Facebook.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to benefit the Young family.
