ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — A State Police officer was shot Saturday morning after initiating a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near Laguna, the agency said early Sunday morning.

The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries. State Police have not released her name but said she was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released.
