Fort Worth Municipal Court will host a Court in the Community/Warrant Forgiveness event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 11, at LVTRise, 8201 Calmont Ave.

The event is for anyone who has outstanding citations with the Fort Worth Municipal Court to appear at a municipal court location or Court in the Community event, without fear of arrest for their cases. Attendees can resolve their outstanding cases and may be eligible for alternatives such as community service or a reduction in their fine based on ability to pay. Preregistration for the event is required. Call 817-392-6700.

“Court in the Community/Warrant Forgiveness is a great opportunity for folks to take care of their tickets in a less formal, more welcoming atmosphere. Please come see us,” said Chief Judge Danny Rodgers.

Additional services

The Fort Worth EnVision Center and Community Action Partners will also be onsite to help with rent, past-due rent, utilities and past-due utility payments. They will also provide job skills training and employment assistance.

In addition, Legal Aid of North West Texas will provide general civil intake, including family law, wills and estates, landlord/tenant cases, public benefits, federal tax, bankruptcy and property matters.

Goodwill North Central Texas will be available at the event with employment opportunities, job placement services, one-on-one career counseling, job readiness skills training including resume writing, interviewing skills and job search techniques. Services are available at no cost, and appointments are not needed.

Court in the Community: frequently asked questions

Q: Is this only for Fort Worth citations?

A: Yes, for any Class C criminal case filed with the Court such as traffic violations, ordinance violations, and penal code violations through the issuance of a citation.

Q: What is Safe Harbor?

A: Fort Worth is a Safe Harbor Court, meaning residents can always visit a Fort Worth Municipal Court location without fear of arrest for outstanding warrants issued by the Fort Worth Municipal Court.
