VICTORIA, Texas — A Victoria man who died one week ago was reportedly killed by flesh-eating bacteria after a camping trip to Magnolia Beach on Matagorda Bay.

His wife said she went from planning a family vacation at the beach to planning a funeral days later.

Debra Mattix said her husband, Gary Evans, 56, did not have any noticeable open wounds or cuts that would have allowed the bacteria to make entry into his body.

If you live near the coast or here just to visit the beaches and go far a swim you really need to pay attention to this article and please spread the word about this flesh eating bacteria. I've personally seen what this stuff can do the human body and it's not a pretty site.
The bacteria enters thru open sores or wounds so pay attention to your bodies and others. This stuff thrives in WARM waters, and not only saltwater.
