STATEMENT OF EDITORIAL OPINION

The Texas Police News seldom, if ever, offers its opinion on news stories but in the case of the Fort Worth police officer recently placed on administrative duties after a video was made public of his arrests of a woman and her daughter, we felt an opinion is warranted.

Our disgust is not about the arrest itself because like everyone else in the public we only know what we saw in a few seconds of a video clip which in many cases was edited by the various television stations.

Our disgust is with what Houston TV station KHOU, a CBS station, did relative to the story.  KHOU ran a public survey asking its viewers to call in with their opinions and offered them three ways to comment.  The survey asked the question like this:
Who Do You Think Was At Fault In This Incident?
The Officer
The Woman
Both

The results of the survey was an overwhelming number, about 61% said they thought the officer was at fault.

Our disgust first is how KHOU felt this survey would contribute anything to society in the first place.  Second, who were these people that responded to the survey.  Since the two women who were arrested were black women, what percentage of the responders to the survey were black people?  Third, what percentage of the responders were criminals, ex-convicts, anti-police, BLM sympathizers.

Overall, the Texas Police News believes the entire notion of a television station, or any media for that matter, conduct a survey in this matter was a hip shot to take advantage of the situation in their effort to grab ratings. KHOU rated number three in recent ratings after KPRC which was first, KTRK was second, then KHOU third.

For a station which advertises itself as 'Houstons Team' it apparently does not include police officers as part of that team.

Comments:
Breck all the media is the same, bias liberal leaning and anti police. Its all about the advertising revenue not factual and fair reporting of both sides. Its no wonder able body men and women don't want to be police officers. As soon as something becomes controversial everyone wants to drive the bus over the officer. It even better when the officer is white and the thug is not. I don't know what it will take to change peoples perception, perhaps no law enforcement for a 24 hour period and let the thugs rule.

The liberal news media is the 4th branch of government.

It's my opinion that censorship is alive and well in the U. S. A., since both you and Yahoo News will no longer post my comments.

This is exactly why the only news I watch is the weather at 16 past the hour and when that is over I switch the channel. That station has changed and who ever is running that laugh factory should be sent packing. News station are nothing more than a joke these days! They do not report anything. They tell stories most of which are not factual and they make stuff up as they go along all in the name of sensationalism!!

Stations have sponsors/advertisers who give money to the station in exchange for air time. Complaints to sponsors will be more valuable in influencing the programming. Go to the money source if you want to stop this foolishness.
