Retired Sergeant Thomas M. Ray Jr. passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the age of 90. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Nora E. Ray. Sergeant Ray joined the Houston Police Department on November 16, 1953, Academy Class #10. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Patrol Bureau Division, Jail Division, Police Academy, Staff Services Bureau, Technical Services Bureau and the Property Room until his retirement on January 2, 1980.

The body is entrusted with Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77065 (832) 678-3900.

Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 2003 West 43rd Street, Houston, Texas 77018 (713) 686-8241 on Thursday, May 18, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
