The Cedar Park Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding extensive injuries to a 7-week old infant.

On July 6, 2019, the child was transported by EMS to Dell Children’s Hospital where doctors reported injuries including multiple hemorrhages and bleeding in the brain, seizures, strokes, retinal hemorrhage in both eyes, and multiple bruising injuries in the chest, abdomen, hip and tongue.

The following day, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services contacted the Cedar Park Police Department in reference to this case.

Through our investigation, we believe statements made by the infant’s parents are inconsistent with the injuries observed on the child.

Lee Alan Woodard (DOB: 04/09/1998) is charged with Injury to a Child Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Alexis Joan Basques (DOB: 08/14/1997) is charged with Injury to a Child by Omission.

Both were taken into custody Friday, July 26, 2019.

We are working with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office and DFPS as the case remains ongoing at this time.
