At 2:49 P.M. on November 19, 2022, Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the
2600 block of N Main St. Officers contacted 22 year old Eric Gabriel Basham, 36 year old
Christopher Stefan Russell, and 27 year old Ashley Debrah McAdams, all of Paris. McAdams
advised officers that she and Russell had let Basham stay with them for a few days and they
had had an argument and they wanted Basham to leave. Basham was found to be in
possession of methamphetamine. Basham advised that he got the narcotics from their
room. A search warrant was obtained and officers located methamphetamine, cocaine,
fentanyl, pills, and assorted paraphernalia inside the room. All three were arrested on
numerous felony charges and were later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of NW 5th St at 2:50 A.M. on
November 20, 2022. Officers arrived and recognised 40 year old Mary Joyce Leeks, of Paris
and knew Leeks to have outstanding warrants out of Lamar County. Leeks was found to
have two felony bond surrender warrants charging her with abandon or endanger a child
by criminal negligence and possession of a controlled substance of less than 1gram. Leeks
was arrested and later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286 at 9:32
P.M. on November 20, 2022. Nursing staff reported that a patient was suspected of being
under the influence of some type of unknown narcotic and disturbing other patients. When
officers made contact with the patient identified as 37 year old Joel Thomas Searls, of Paris,
Searls removed his IV needle and held it like a knife. Searls then advanced towards the
officer in an aggressive manner. Searls was subdued and arrested. After being medically
cleared, Searls was transported to the Police Department where he was booked. He was
charged with assault on a public servant. Searls was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 177 calls for service and arrested 22 persons over the
weekend ending at midnight on November 20, 2022
