A case that started with Deputies from Montgomery County PCT 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden’s Office
responding to an armed robbery call in Porter has ended with the perpetrator receiving 30 years for his crime.

On 12/22/2021, while working the #SafeShopperInitiative, a #MOCOPct4 Deputy responded to a robbery in progress call

in the parking lot of Spec’s Liquor in Porter, TX. Witnesses stated a Hispanic male approached a vehicle occupied by a

female and two children, opened the driver side door, held a knife to the female and demanded her purse. He then cut

the purse strap from the victim’s body, jumped into a vehicle and fled the area.

Detectives working the case from Constable Hayden’s Office, along with Detectives from the Humble Police Department
followed up on tips from social media and poured over surveillance videos and statements, which led them to the

suspect: Armando Jesus Ramirez (36, Porter, TX). An arrest warrant was issued for Ramirez; shortly after PCT 4’s Special

Response Team (SRT) took him into custody at his apartment in Porter on 01/26/2022.

Ramirez was no stranger to the criminal justice system, being a convicted felon with charges that included aggravated
assault, aggravated robbery, robbery, assault on a public servant, theft and narcotics. On Tuesday, June 14, 2022,

Ramirez added to that list after pleading guilty to the aggravated robbery charge. He was promptly sentenced to 30

years.

Constable Hayden stated, “I want to personally thank the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) for
funding the #SafeShopperInitiative year after year, due to this program deputies were close by and able to respond

immediately to the call for help. I also want to thank District Attorney Brett Ligon and his staff, for their hard work and

diligence in this case
