She gives new meaning to “fight or flight.”
A woman on an American Airlines plane from Miami to New York was arrested Sunday for repeatedly attacking a flight attendant — a rampage that ended after an off-duty NYPD officer aboard the aircraft managed to subdue the out-of-control passenger, according to a criminal complaint.
Chenasia Campbell, 28, of Brooklyn is facing federal charges for punching the employee after she intervened in an argument between Campbell and another attendant for not picking up her garbage.
When the victim stepped in between the two, Campbell started punching her and grabbing her hair, federal prosecutors said.
Campbell then stormed up the aisle and begin arguing with a passenger before confronting the attendant again and cursing at her, feds said.
“Cops aren’t going to do anything to me,” she allegedly yelled as she hit the victim again and the two tumbled to the floor. Campbell also tried to rip the flight attendant’s dress off during the incident, prosecutors said.
The NYPD cop placed Campbell in restraints as the flight attendants requested an emergency landing, but the plane continued to JFK airport.
Campbell was arrested when they landed and charged with “interference with flight crew members and attendants.”
The flight attendant suffered numerous minor injuries but refused medical attention.
