For Immediate Release

9/6/2022

FORT WORTH, Texas - On Aug. 28, 2022, the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) responded to a shooting call near the 8500 block of Steel Dust Drive, which resulted in a double homicide. The victims were identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 5-year-old Rayschard Scott and 17-year-old Jamarrien Monroe.

The FWPD Homicide Unit has been working tirelessly to investigate all leads and, most importantly, find the persons responsible for these murders.

Over the Labor Day weekend, FWPD Homicide Detectives, FWPD Patrol Officers, and the FWPD Fugitive Unit – United States Marshal Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force, arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile and 21-year-old Anthony Ray Bell-Johnson in connection with this double homicide. The juvenile and Bell-Johnson have both been arrested on a charge of capital murder.

This investigation is on-going and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
