Paris Police met with the victim of a fraud at the Paris
Police Department at 7:27
A.M. on September 2, 2022. The victim reported that they had
received an e-mail from a
business who was thanking him for his recent order. The
victim advised that he had not
placed an order through that company. The victim contacted
the company and found that
there had been 2 orders that had been charged to his credit
card. The orders were
cancelled before the merchandise was picked up or delivered.
The investigation continues.
Paris Police arrested Celina Marie Grimes, 33, of Paris, in
the 2900 block of
Clarksville St. Grimes was asleep in her vehicle and was
found to have two outstanding
probation violation warrants out of Lamar County. Both
warrants were for possession of
controlled substance convictions. Grimes was later
transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a harassment in the 1800 block of
Jackson Court at 1:50
A.M. on September 4, 2022. During the investigation, Jaylon
Terrell King, 24, of Paris, was
found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Delta
county, Texas charging him with
evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. He was also
found to have an outstanding
Municipal Court warrant. King was arrested and placed in the
city jail. He is awaiting
transfer to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of
SE 15th St at 4:36 A.M. on
September 4, 2022. Upon arrival, a 20 year old victim
reported that she and 39 year old
Samuel Luciano Cardenas, of Paris, had been in an argument
and Cardenas had pointed a
pistol at her and threatened her with it. Officers located
Cardenas inside the residence and
found that he a pistol in his pants pocket. Cardenas was
arrested and charged with
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and interference
with an emergency call. The
victim reported that Cardenas had taken her phone away from
her as she was summoning
help. Cardenas was later transferred to the Lamar County
Jail.

Freddy Wayne Hodges, 53, of Paris, was arrested at 6:35 A.M.
on September 5, 2022
at his residence on a Lamar County felony warrant charging
him with possession of a
controlled substance of less than 1 gram. He also had 5
outstanding Municipal Court
warrants. Hodges was booked and placed in the city jail
awaiting transfer to the Lamar
County Jail.
Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of E Price
St at 9:47 A.M. on
September 5, 2022 for failing to display a turn signal. The
driver, 74 year old Lewis Tucker,
of Paris, was found to have an outstanding Lamar County
felony warrant charging him with
accident involving injury – habitual offender. Tucker was
booked and later transferred to
the Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to a theft of a vehicle in the 1900
block of E Cherry St at
11:06 A.M. on September 5, 2022. The victim reported that
someone had stolen a tan 2000
Toyota Camry, that his mother had left him, from his
residence. A neighbor reported that
they had seen a man in a gray pick-up pulling a trailer,
load the vehicle and drive away. The
man told the neighbor that they had just bought the vehicle.
The investigation continues.
Paris Police arrested David Paul Goss, 34, of Paris, in the
200 block of Clement Rd., at
1:27 P.M. on September 05, 2022. Goss was found to have an
outstanding felony warrant
out of Lamar County charging him with a motion to revoke his
probation on an evading
arrest or detention conviction. During the arrest, Goss was
found to be in possession of
methamphetamine and several prescription pills that he did
not have a prescription to
possess. Goss was additionally charged with 2 counts of
possession of a controlled
substance. He was booked and later placed in the Lamar
County Jail.
