Retired Sergeant Wylie “Don” Nickell passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Wanda S. Nickell; he is also the father of Retired Sergeant John W. Nickell, who retired on March 21, 2020, out of the North Belt Division. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Retired Police Officer Bobbie E. Foster, who passed away on June 3, 2022. Sergeant Wylie Nickell was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He joined the Houston Police Department on December 27, 1966, Academy Class #34. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the Special Operations, Northeast, and Auto Theft Divisions. Sergeant Wylie Nickell entered Phase Down on July 3, 2004, retiring on February 24, 2007.

 

The body is entrusted with Klein Funeral Home – Tomball, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375 (281) 351-7233.

 

A visitation will be held before the Funeral Service at Klein Funeral Home – Tomball, on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will start at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Klein Memorial Park – Spring-Klein, 9714 Farm to Market Road 2920, Tomball, Texas 77375 (281) 320-2674.
