Hospital-bound 70-year-old dies waiting at Bolivar ferry landing

A 70-year-old man died early Sunday morning while waiting in line at the ferry landing on the way to a Galveston hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.

The man already was in medical distress when he had a “heart attack or medical episode” in a passenger car on the Bolivar Peninsula side of the Galveston–Port Bolivar Ferry sometime after 1 a.m., County Sheriff Henry Trochesset said Monday morning.
