Reward Increased to $8,000 for Most Wanted Sex Offender From Waco

AUSTIN – The reward for Monroe Hernandez, 50, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender and this month’s featured fugitive, has been increased to $8,000 for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in during the month of December. In addition, Waco Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for Hernandez’s arrest. Hernandez is wanted for parole violation and failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

Hernandez’s last known address was in Waco, and he has ties to the area. In 1993, Hernandez was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in McLennan County. He has been wanted since September 2014. For more information and updates in the event of his arrest, see his wanted bulletin at: http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/SexOffenderDetails.aspx?id=338.

Hernandez is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest, left hand and both legs; and may be using an alias.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
